Hello all, I reserved a tri motor the night of the unveiling. If my math is right I should be in the low 3k range of reservations. Been super busy because of a move from Kansas to Florida and recently found this forum. Hoping to stay on top of news and speculation.

Current fleet of vehicles 2009 2500HD Duramax (Cybertruck will replace), 2017 Chevrolet Bolt, and my conversion project Saturn Sky redline. Right now the Sky is waiting for me to pick up model s motor and batteries. Should be a pretty quick car once I'm done. Well signing off tonight.

Welcome to the forum. Can you share more info on that Sky project car? Sounds incredible.

Any pics or info on how you'll install the powertrain? Have you done anything like this before?

Sorry for all the questions... that just sounds very cool!

Thank you.

All questions are welcome. First off I have never converted a car before. This is a learning experience for me. I have a background in avionics maintenance and a basic understanding of electric motors from that. Not enough honestly to completely know what the heck I'm doing. Lol. So, I'm learning as I'm going.

I'll add pictures of the car as she currently sits. Which means she's just being prepped by removing the old drivetrain and fuel system. I have a couple ideas on how to install the drive unit, but until I actually get one in hand I won't determine the best course on that. If there's anyone in the Tampa Bay area that would like to help or knows people with in-depth knowledge please get in contact with me.

I'll be updating my Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube while I do things. All of them are the same handle as on here. If there's an offtopic section here I can create a discussion there and keep that thread updated also.

That Sky hardtop is very cool, I like how the shape of the glass looks just like the factory glass on the Solstice coupe. That car will absolutely fly with a Model S drivetrain, wow.

The hard top is from Norms fiberglass and was molded from the solstice coup. That's where the basic shape comes from at least.

Just picked up a front drive unit from a 16 Model S. That will be installed in the front of course. I'll be picking up a large rear drive unit later. This project will take longer than I want as I don't want to lose my down payment for the Cybertruck on it. Unless I can get YouTube monitization. Which I'm not counting on.

Welcome @Boxmonkeyracing! Do you know how big of a battery or motor you'll be able to put in your Sky? Also feel free to add some more photos of your dog

Lol. That's actually a friend's doggo. I have 4. 2 husky, a mix, and a Weiner.
