It looks like GM is bringing back the Hummer brand and making all of the vehicles electric. They are planning to make the announcement during the Super Bowl on February 2nd and it will apparently feature LeBron James.

The current plans involve selling the new Hummer as a GMC model, the report said.

This is going to be very interesting because GM hasn't really gone in on electric trucks. But it's a very smart move to bring back the Hummer name as an EV.

We'll have to wait a little bit longer to see what the Hummer is capable of. GM is delaying the Hummer's reveal that was scheduled for May 20. They were going to do a live event but that obviously won't be possible with COVID-19 outbreak, especially in Michigan.

According to sources familiar with the matter, General Motors has motioned to alter the battery-electric Hummer's big reveal event scheduled for May 20. The unveiling had been planned for GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant, which is converting over entirely to electric vehicle production, but complications stemming from the global novel coronavirus outbreak have rendered the automaker's reveal plans untenable.

When asked about the matter, GM spokespeople declined to comment.

GM hasn't yet officially announced how they'll reschedule the GMC Hummer's debut. It's undecided whether or not they still intend to unveil it on May 20, perhaps through a live-streamed remote event, or if it will debut later in the year.
