Hi everyone, I live in and grew up in Southern California / Orange County (Irvine if anyone is nearby) and have been a Tesla fan for yours now. We had been thinking about getting my wife a Model 3, but I'm considering replacing my Honda Odyssey instead with a Cybertruck if it will work okay for kid hauling. I guess we don't even really need a minivan, or at least that's what I'm trying to rationalize to myself, but I want to try placing car seats in a Cybertruck and hearing feedback from other families with younger kids about how the Cybertruck works for them. It's hard to beat a minivan once you're used to one! But the Cybertruck is just too cool for school. (/My wife rolls her eyes at my dad jokes too)

Too bad we can't get a federal tax credit for a Tesla anymore! I think the Cybertruck will still be eligible for the $2,500 state CVRP rebate, but I'm not sure.

Welcome to the forum @jliu79! I'm curious to see how practical the Cybertruck's design is as well. I think we'll get a clearer picture of the practicality once journalists start getting more access with the Cybertruck. Have you been a Tesla owner for a while?

I don't own a Tesla yet. We had our eye on the Model 3 until the ball dropped with the Cybertruck. I have a Honda Odyssey and she drives a Buick Verano.

We take trips to Palm Springs for leisure, and we go to Ventura County as well as Pasadena / Arcadia / San Gabriel Valley for family visits. Those weekend trips will be a good test of the range of the Cybertruck.

Ahh ok my mistake there. Solid reliable vehicles there with the Odyssey and Verano. Would you trade one of them in for the Cybertruck? Or would it be added to the garage?
Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I would try to sell the Odyssey privately to see if I could get more for it. The Cybertruck would replace the Odyssey. I'd like to hear how the Cybertruck works for other families before I commit to that though.
